Dear Mom of two in the Aldi’s Parking Lot.
I wanted to write a letter to you because I didn’t get a chance to stop and talk to you. I watched you while you put your two little kids and your minivan. I remember when my kids were younger because they are close in age like yours. It was only last year that I was in your shoes.
Maybe one of your kids isn’t walking yet and it’s much easier to go to Aldi because they have carriages that fit two little kids in the front. Or so you think it will be easier because you don’t have to have a kid inside the big part of the cart where people are going to look at you and judge you and the store employee might even yell at you for it. We all see the sign on the cart that says that kids aren’t supposed to sit in it but like you want to be chasing after kids, please we all know its easier just leave me alone!!!!!!! They just honestly don’t understand what it’s like to have two little kids and have to go grocery shopping.
So you decided that you were going to go to Aldi because there are two spots in the carriage and you’d be able to shop and save money of course Aldi is amazing that’s why I still shop there!
You come out can you go back to your car and you’re trying to get the groceries in and the kids in and the kids are crying because they’re over shopping and you’re sitting there and you’re trying to get them in and your car is a disaster and you don’t want anyone to look at it and as you open the door stuff is flying out of the car onto the ground now your littering but not gonna chase it and leave your kids there so whatever you’re a litterer now. No I do not support littering obviously! No one wants to destroy the planet!! But I’m not trying to have my kids stolen out of my car while I chase a candy wrapper in a parking lot where they pay people to clean it. So if I am a horrible person sorry Susan, we aren’t all on the volleyball team, okay?!
I have been in your shoes before and I think you’re doing a great job. The worst part of the whole trip and then you have to figure out how you’re going to get the cart back. You either leave it where you are and have people look at you like you’re a jerk or bring it up to the front and possibly get arrested for leaving your kids in the car by themselves. You honestly probably went to Aldi just because you needed milk but you can’t run into any store without bringing both kids so might as well go grocery shopping. I’m exhausted for you, I’ve been there I think you’re doing a great job. You’re doing everything you can to take care of your family! Your kids are so cute and your van is a place that they love to be in because all their toys are in there and they never know what they’re going to find don’t worry about other people, they can take a long jump off a short pier.
I know that you are trying to just get what you need without losing your ship. I know that you always feel like you are not doing good enough. But you ARE good enough, you are beautiful. Know that I am praying for you, because if you are a Christian you probably want to pray for yourself but you never get a chance to breathe and you’re doing the best you can. I am praying that someone comes by just when you are finished putting everything in your car and takes your cart into the store. I hope they give you their quarter too!
